In geography and certainly within the geographic information science community, this idea has been suggested for some time as a way forward to make maps and map-like metaphors useful for discussion, to find shared and agreed upon objects around which we can develop a conversation, have agreements and disagreements. I believe that many of the objects on this site will help people with little or no knowledge or even interest in dance to find such objects that they can identify and agree with, and actually have a fruitful discussion with dance experts about this dance and also things that they associate with from this dance.
