Laban does a beautiful job and is important for reconstruction and repertory. This is not our focus. However questions about notation, scoring, the nature of a trace are all of interest to us and we find we enjoy our conversations with dance analysis colleagues working with Laban at Ohio State and beyond. our work is not an "either/or" but a "yes and", we have laban, we have video, we have critics and a historians, what else can we generate to leave a trace of choreographic knowledge...?
